  16. In the year 1604 leading clergymen asked James I in England to have a new
  17. translation of the Bible made in order to correct errors and improve the
  18. language of the Coverdale translation.  James appointed 54 great scholars to
  19. make a new revision.  As a result of their 7 year effort the King James
  20. Version was completed in 1611.
  21.  
  22. Since the English language was steadily changing many of the words of the
  23. King James Version changed in meaning over time.  In 1870 more revisions were
  24. made by prominent English scholars and some American authorities.  The poetic
  25. language contained in Screen Savior is based on the revision of 1870.

  68. PC System Requirements:

  70.  * IBM PC or compatible computer, color monitor with at least 256 colors. 
  71.  * 1.5 MB hard disk space.
  72.  * Windows 3.1x or later operating system.

  74. To install Screen Savior:
  75.  
  76.  1.)  Insert the Screen Savior diskette or CD ROM into your computer.
  77.  2.)  Launch the Windows File Manager and select the drive which has the 
  78.        Screen Savior diskette or CD ROM.
  79.  3.)  Double-click the Setup.exe file on the Screen Savior diskette or CD ROM. 
  80.       Follow the instructions on-screen.
  81.  4.)  Screen Savior will install
  82.        into your system.

  84. To use Screen Savior:

  86.  1.)  Open the Control Panel which is located in the Main window.
  87.  2.)  Open the Desktop and locate the Screen Saver area.
  88.  3.)  Select a Screen Savior from the Name pop-up menu.

  90. The Volume I and Teachings text-only versions include the following setup

  95.   Vanish Out

  104. The Mode buttons allows you to select how text is displayed on screen.  
  105.  
  106. Credits has the text scroll from the bottom of the screen up to the top like
  107. the credits in a movie.
  108.  
  109. Vanish Out has the text appear and in the middle of the screen and enlarge as
  110. it approaches the viewer.
  111.  
  112. Vanish In has the text disappear toward a vanishing point in the middle of
  113. the screen.
  114.  
  115. Random randomly selects Credits, Vanish Out and Vanish In.
  116.  
  117.  
  118. The Delay option allows you to set the amount of time in seconds before the
  119. text begins to move.
  120.  
  121. Speed allows you to select the time in milliseconds between text movements.
  122. A lower number moves the text faster.
  123.  
  124. Distance is how far each text movement travels.  A high number moves the text
  125. further.
  126.  
  127. The Font  button opens a window allowing you to select the following:

  130. Font Style
  131. Size
  132. Effects 
  133. Color

  135. Experiment with  these  settings to adjust to your personal preference.  (The
  136. Setup button is disabled in the Graphic Edition).

  141.  1.  Macintosh LC or newer computer & color monitor with at least 256 colors.
  142.  2.  After Dark 2.0x or  equivalent (if you don't have After Dark call us).

  145. To install Screen Savior with After Dark 2.0:
  146.  
  147.  1.)  Insert the Screen Savior diskette or CD ROM into your computer.
  148.  
  149.  2.)  Find the After Dark Files folder on your hard drive
  150.       (Probably located in the Control Panels folder in your System Folder).
  151.  
  152.  3.)  Drag the Screen Savior module into the After Dark Files folder.

  154. To install Screen Savior with After Dark 3.0:
  155.  
  156.  1.)  Insert the Screen Savior diskette or CD ROM into your computer.
  157.  
  158.  2.)  Find the After Dark 3.0 folder on your hard drive
  159.       (Probably located in the Control Panels folder in your System Folder).
  160.  
  161.  3.)  Drag the Screen Savior module into the After Dark 3.0 folder.

  163. To use Screen Savior:

  165.  1.)  Double click the After Dark icon in your Control Panels folder.
  166.  
  167.  2.)  Select Screen Savior from the scrolling list of modules in either the
  168. After Dark Files folder or the After Dark 3.0 folder.

  170. Depending on the size of your computer monitor you may want to adjust font
  171. size to your personal preference.  Use the Font Size slider to adjust font
  172. size from 9 - 48  points.
  173.  
  174. The amount of time Screen Savior images and text are displayed on screen may
  175. be adjusted using the Duration slider.  Duration adjustments range from 5
  176. -120 seconds.

  178. NOTICE: IF YOU CAN ONLY DISPLAY THE TEXT VERSES AND NOT THE COLOR GRAPHIC
  179. IMAGES - BE SURE YOU HAVE THE APPLE QUICKTIMEx EXTENSION INSTALLED AND

  187. You may specify how Screen Savior is displayed on your screen by clicking on
  188. the following buttons and sliders:

  199.  Text Color (color machines only)

  201. The Mode pull-down menu allows you to select how text is displayed on screen.

  203. Random randomly selects Vanish, Left, Up, and Down.

  205. Vanish has the text appear in the middle of the screen and disappear toward a
  206. vanishing point in the center of the screen.

  208. Left has the text move from the right side of the screen to the left side of
  209. the screen.

  213. Down has the text move from the top of the screen to the bottom of the

  216. The Duration slider allows you to set the total amount of time (from 10 to
  217. 110 seconds) that the text will be displayed on screen.

  219. Font Size allows you to select the size of the text from 12 to 112 points.

  221. Text Color brings up the Macintosh color picker.  You may select any color by
  222. clicking on the color wheel.

  228. experiment with the various SetUp parameters until you acheive the desired
  229. results.
